Pain Relief

Pain is unique to the individual and identifying your deficits is key to relief. So how is our method different? We use Movement Analysis.

Most patients with pain have tried numerous treatments strategies including physical therapy with no relief.

What is Movement Analysis?

Studying how the way a person moves contributes to their pain.

People who have pain at work may move abnormally all day which can cause their pain, similar to golfers who don’t swing correctly causing the ball to slice.  These abnormal movements will affect your ability to perform your job efficiently, do your home duties, engage in social interactions and participate in recreational activities.

HOW CAN MOVEMENT CAUSE PAIN?

  • All recurring pain injuries involve a poor or prolonged movement dysfunction that places increased stress to various parts of the body.
  • Real life examples:
    • A waitress may hold her tray at an angle that wears down her shoulder tissues.
    • A person who primarily works on the computer may have the workstation setup incorrectly causing irregular neck muscle activity and change in nerve signals referring headaches.
    • An avid walker has an abnormal gait (walking pattern) may  cause gradual wear on the knee’s leading to knee pain.
  • With repetition, soft-tissue, joints, blood vessels and nerves can breakdown leading to injury and pain.
  • Movement analysis helps identify the stress points that lead to injury, pain, and insufficiency.
